Family Mini Session

Carmel, Indiana

Sometimes there are just no words to describe how you feel. This is one reason why I love photography so much. It can bring back, even renew, a feeling once felt.

I have also found that other languages have attempted to describe feelings in a single word and I have enjoyed becoming a collector of them.

To be clear- I do not speak Swedish. I merely appreciate some of the words in their language that do not exist in ours.

Being born or alive during a pandemic isn’t necessarily convenient or fun but it does have its hidden blessings.

fika (fee-ka) Swedish

(n.) a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life.

This word describes one of the blessings I have found and enjoyed during this time. I know this is not the first time I have mentioned this in my posts recently but its really neat to meet people and families who are doing that same thing. This family is one of them- they are choosing to slow down and focus on the things that matter most and it shows in ALL of their moments.
