I gave a friend a "new momma gift" for her first baby- things I really wish someone had gotten me. She said that its the most thoughtful and usual gift anyone has ever given her. I thought I would include the items I gifted her as a baby shower gift idea to all of you {and my new momma clients}.
Water bottle- 64 ounces (8 cups) is recommended. I especially love the bottles that remind you to drink with timeline markers and cheer you on.
Dry Shampoo- for my favorite brand and scent- Amazon.com: Batiste Dry Shampoo, Bare Fragrance, 6.35 fl. oz. : Beauty & Personal Care
Witch Hazel Wipes- helped me with soothing and healing mainly. My doctor said that it would take me at least 6 weeks to heal after my daughter was born but I was diligent and shaved two weeks off that. :)
Granola bars- something small and tasty to grab during a feeding. I know its easy to choose sleep over eating but you really need both.
Motherlove cream- my personal favorite- Amazon.com: Motherlove Nipple Cream (1oz) Organic Lanolin-Free Herbal Salve For Breastfeeding—Soothe Nursing Nipples & Use as a Pump Lubricant—No Need to Remove Prior to Pumping or Nursing—Non-GMO, Cruelty-Free
Bio-Oil- I used it while pregnant and beyond. It really helped my skin to grow without stretch marks during pregnancy and my belly wasn't itchy like my other pregnant friends.
Medline Cleansing Bottle- warm washes during bathroom breaks helped me with recovery and healing.
Stool softener- The first #2 after my daughter was born was rough. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I hadn't used these.
Lidocaine spray- No pain, no gain in most cases but for me it was- no pain meant I could comfortably wear pants.
Probiotics- helped with gut health and digestion which I needed.
Maxi pads- for obvious reasons. :)
Nesting night gown- helped with the middle of the night feeds.
Herbal Tea- I found peppermint helped regulate milk overproduction and fennel helped regulate milk underproduction.
I really hope this helps!
